Principal - James Tomlin
It's been my good fortune to have been at Rancheria High School for almost a decade. What a great adventure it's been with Val and Wendy and the incredible students we've had the pleasure to work with. How did I get here?

I was born in Washington D.C. in the first half of the 20th century and started traveling with my family almost immediately. We lived in Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Nebraska, Maryland and good ole California, with a 2 year stop in Africa, and brief stay in Italy and Germany. I even learned to speak French as a child.

My loves growing up were sports (basketball, baseball, football, tennis, golf, bowling, ping pong ), history, and stamp and corn collecting.

I got into teaching by accident and have never looked back. As soon as I started, I knew this was I wanted to do. I'm now attending class at my sixth college and I must admit I love learning and really like taking classes.

I hope that I'm able to pass on my enthusiasm to the students I work with and that they enjoy working with me as much as I enjoy working with them.
