Announcements

  • Dear Parents and Guardians,

As you may already know, all schools in Mendocino County have now been closed for the remainder of this school year. While regular classroom instruction will not be available, be assured that the Anderson Valley Unified School District will continue to provide distance learning, Independent Study packets, and other instructional supports through June 11, 2020.

School meals will still be provided to all students on Mondays of each week beginning Monday, April 13 after Spring Break. Parents and guardians may pick up five days’ worth of breakfast, lunch, and milk outside of the high school cafeteria between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Students are no longer required to accompany parents when picking up meals.

Please feel free to contact your child’s school if you have any questions or comments. Thank you.

District News

Welcome

  • On behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty and staff of AVUSD, I welcome you to Anderson Valley Unified School District’s web presence. We are extremely proud of the safe and supportive learning environments fostered in all our schools. We are even prouder of our kids! We expect children and students to be safe and successful in the classroom, on the playing field and in life.  This expectation defines and focuses our efforts as a school district. We work every day to help children and students learn and excel as they progress in school and prepare for adult life.

As a community of learners we embrace best practices in teaching and learning to provide a first rate education for the children and students we serve. Our schools are continually working to improve by bringing in new curriculum, better practices, and more advanced technology. AVUSD continues to create and develop strong partnerships with the community to provide our students with added resources to help them receive the education they deserve.

We encourage all students, family and community members to join us in preparing all students for college, careers and life. AVUSD welcomes your participation, input and enthusiasm. With hard work and dedication, our students will be able to achieve their potential. Please feel free to call or stop by if I or a member of our staff can be of service to you.

    Sincerely,

    Michael P. Warych, Ed.D.
    Interim Superintendent
